LANConnect is a superior traffic management service connecting your Local Area Networks (LANs) at different sites and can be offered as a fully managed service.
The service
LANConnect is based on frame relay technology which provides high performance communications between many users on a single network. The service is ideal for interactive client-server applications, file transfer. document sharing, CAD/CAM and intranets.
It is specifically designed to handle bursts and fluctuations in the traffic pattern that occur when data is exchanged between multiple sites at bandwidths of up to 2Mbps.
The service can also be offered as Managed LANConnect, in which Batelco manages the routers in the Wide Area Network (WAN) which connect together the Local Area Networks (LANs) at various sites. In the managed service Batelco takes responsibility for router provision, maintenance and configuration management.
Furthermore technical design and network consultancy is also provided, enabling you to optimize your network.

Reliability: The built-in redundancy of the core network ensures continuous service even in the event of network failure. Similarly when one route is disrupted, other routes are deployed through the network. |

Enhanced network performance: LANConnect provides high-speed data transfer and is specifically designed to cope with variable burst sizes and unpredictable traffic patterns. Continuous throughput facilitates higher productivity and improved customer service. |

Scalability: A variety of access speeds enable you to scale your network as operations expand. New sites can easily be added and Committed Information Rates (CIRs) can be adjusted to match the requirements of your business. |

Cost effective: Inter-LAN traffic is carried on Batelco’s digital network, thereby cutting equipment and connection charges and eliminating the need for dedicated private circuits. This reduces the capital costs to your business. A single network connection per company offers communication with multi-sites thereby resulting in significant cost savings. |

Round the clock support: The Service Management Centre is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer your queries on service management issues. It also acts as a focal point for fault handling and management. |

Single point of contact: For Managed LANConnect Batelco will act as your primary contact point for all the technical components that make up your solution. |

Design & consultancy: For Managed LANConnect Batelco will provide technical expertise for the deployment of the solution. It will also provide you with network design consultancy for the topology of the network. |

Remote monitoring: For Managed LANConnect Batelco will proactively provide you with round the clock remote monitoring of routers and fault management. |
 |
Remote configuration: For Managed LANConnect Batelco will, where and when required, remotely configure the service. |
Tariffs
The service is charged on flat monthly rental basis depending on access port and committed information rate (CIR) speeds.
