Whether you are in Bahrain or abroad, you can send or reply to someone without disturbing the people around you by speaking on the phone, which is ideal for when you are in a cinema, restaurant or meeting.
What’s more, SMS messages go through to the person you are contacting whether their calls are diverted to another number, their phone is busy or if the mobile you are sending the message to is switched off (the message is received when the phone is switched on again).
You can send a text message not restricted 160 char, picture message or on some mobiles an animation at no cost to the receiving party.
How to Set Up Your Phone For the Service
If you are a Freetime or Valuetime mobile customer and you are using this service for the first time, you will need to set up your GSM phone by entering the Batelco Message Service Centre Number: +97339600179 in the SMS Centre function in your phone. Check your mobile phone manual for further details.
SimSim and SimSim Shabab customers can automatically use the SMS service and do not need to set up their mobiles on the ’ message centre number’.. as it’s already provided by default once the service is activated.
How to Send a Messages
- Select ‘Messages’ from your mobile phone menu.
- In the appropriate section in the ‘Messages’ menu (refer to mobile manual if necessary), type a message of up to 160 characters (for English) and 70 characters (for Arabic).
- Press SEND/ YES.
- You will receive a confirmation message on your mobile screen when the message is successfully sent.
