Why do I need a filter?
Filter is essential wherever a telephone or other device shares a line with an ADSL modem.

  • Eliminate the most avoidable installation problems for ADSL users.
  • Eliminates the high frequency noise that may affect your connection stability or speeds.
  • Enable you to use the Internet while you are talking on the phone.

What is the different between Router or a Modem?

The modem:

  • Can be used for a single computer
  • Every time you have to dial in your user credential "Username & Password" to get connected.
  • Each modem has it independent software which you shall install on your PC.

The Router:

  • Can be used for Home Network and connect up to 4 PC  to the Internet.
  • The connection will be always on. "You don’t have to enter your user credential every time you want to connect to the Internet"
  • Has more advance features e.g. Port Forwarding.
  • No software to be installed on your PC. 

What factors affect the broadband speed that I can receive?
Throughput Speed: The maximum speed could vary  due to the:

  • Number of subscribers online at the same time
  • Number of people accessing the same web sites that you are .

Once connected and stable, the access line speed and throughput can be affected by a number of factors:

  • Long or unprofessional extension internal telephone wiring
  • Set up and quality of hardware "Router & Filter"
  • Insufficient or incorrectly installed micro filters
  • Interference / noise
  • Interference from other devices in the home
  • The type of application being used
  • Internal shared services (multiple PC's / Games consoles / IPTV)
  • External applications sharing your devices (peer to peer)
  • Viruses and Spyware and other installed software on the PC

Can I suspend the service when I am going on holiday ?
You can request the temporary suspension option  which allows you to suspend your service" Monthly Rental "  temporally  for 1 month while you are on holiday.
